I might not teach yet, but I’m proud to be part of this group! I’m learning from the best of the best! Before joining and since, I watched and continue to watch your videos. Your posts are the few on Facebook that I actually read, watch and care about. I am proud to be a daughter of one of the best china painters I know, Janet Nelson and granddaughter of another one of the best, Myrtle Lunday. Though I am still working full time, I am striving to do my best to learn as much as possible to perpetuate the art. I want to not just be a taker but a giver.
Donna, I appreciate all you do and want to be like you when I grow up!

Wonderful group of ladies (but men would be welcome!) With a wealth of knowledge - I'm honored to have been accepted into this group! So much to learn!

I’m from Kansas and our numbers have dwindled to the point that we no longer have the 3 day conventions like we used to and have dwindled down to one day. Pretty hard to get vendors or teachers for one day. So seeing the videos you share are such an inspiration to so many of us and it’s great to see the new ideas and even feel like you got to be there! You inspire us to try new things! P,ease keep up the videos! They are a big help to so many!

I love Texas Teachers. When our club folded it was great to know that we could attend three seminars a year for the cost of food, travel and lodging only.
And from a wide range of teachers at that!
We have opportunities to purchase China painting products from sale tables, from donations from estate sales and from China painters who can no longer paint. These purchases support TT.
Our Christmas seminar is full of fun games, Secret Santa’s and great goodies. I enjoy bidding on the Birthday Gifts at each seminar.
When it is your birthday you bring a wrapped gift that members bid on sight unseen. This also supports our club.
Being with a large variety of fellow China painters is priceless. Texas Teachers is a wonderful organization!

I have been painting and doing art since I was a kid. I didn't have much time for it while teaching high school, but a fellow teacher (Shirley Edwards) talked me in to taking china painting lessons from her. I have been painting ever since. I love the media and all the different things you can do. There are always new things to learn, and Texas Teacher's group has been a great place for learning. One difference between China painting and other painting media is the camaraderie between artists and their willingness to share. I know there are other artists groups, but I doubt they are as close and caring as this group. Everyone is encouraged no matter their level of expertise. Even if you've never painted before you can learn to paint on Porcelain. There are plenty of artists out there willing to teach you. Designs by skilled artists can go from simple to complex. Because they share so much, these artists are not always given the credit they deserve, but I truly appreciate everything I have learned in the past 30+ years.

I think it’s wonderful that you have so many involved. It cannot do anything but strengthen our art and encourage those members to help others learn.
I, too, love your on site, televised videos.
Your mama would be very proud of you!
Keep up the momentum!
Thank you, Judy

A few years ago, I rejoined the organization. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend meetings and workshops, as my local club meets the same week. This last September, I was able to be the instruction at the workshop at Brownwood, Texas. I had so much fun teaching, meeting up again with old friends, and meeting new friends. While all states memberships are on the decline, we need to support those which exist by keeping our memberships. Donna has worked tirelessly keeping the Texas Teachers going. She is the Worker Bee who gets things done. There are some of us who have been in this wonderful art for a long time. Change has to come if we are to survive and I for one accept new ideas and change. A shout out to Donna for her efforts in promoting our art and our artists. The officers of Texas Teachers need to be thanked for all their time and williness to keep it all together. Thank you for doing it all!

Let me start by saying I live in a Colorado and joined this group about a year ago. I find it to be so educational and informative. First off, it is a very active group. I love the videos from the seminars. So many demos. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group and kudos to Donna for promoting our porcelain art! I wish I lived closer go attend some of these events!
